The history of the Elko County Sheriff's Posse Search and Rescue Patch Posse Member Charlie Ekburg in about 2003, designed the ECSP SAR patch. As evident, the patch defines Elko County within the State of Nevada. The star is a combination of the traditional peace-officers seven-point star and the four cardinal compass directions, representing our relationship with law enforcement. Words on the SAR patch defines where we work, who we are, what we do, and that we are under the direct supervision of Elko County’s elected sheriff. Members may wear the patch only on their official search and rescue uniform which is the tan basic dress uniform (BDU) of the U.S. Army soldier. The SAR field uniform is different from the usual Posse uniform. Learn more about our uniform under links found on the SAR page. The phrase, "So
that others may live.", is a credo adopted by many
SAR organizations. |
