Because of weather and lack of a training room, SAR has missed two important training meetings this year; we have to pick up the training pace.  Lt. Ekburg will have pace markers set up by the next meeting.  Members can calculate their personal pace intervals.  If time allows, he will build a short, multi-leg closed compass traverse in the compound area.  Bring your compasses just in case.  The traverse will be available by the regularly scheduled SAR training on June 20.
The Sheriff called the Posse to search for a missing airplane earlier in May.  Because of the way the crash occurred, the Sheriff had good insight on the site's location and deputies discovered it quickly.  Snow conditions and steep topography precluded any ground rescue/recovery, which required the Sheriff's department to perform recovery by aerial means.  Several Posse members and equipment responded, but the Sheriff's department demobilized us before we arrived on site.
We will hold our business meeting at our Annex, at the new site.  It is located in Elko on Golf Course road on the left side just before it goes under I-80.  The meeting will begin at 18:00.  Those interested may bring their compasses for impromptu compass instruction.

Summer has finally arrived (oh really?).  The good news is that our Annex now sits in its new location and plugged into the all necessary utilities.  We will meet in the new location on our next meeting, June 6, starting at the regular time 18:00.
We have completed most of the hard work on the Annex move, and all that remains is to clean and organize the insides and skirt the building.  Oh, ya, the steps, and porch needs a little work.  Come to the meeting prepared to help clean up and reorganize the interior.  Once the dust has settled, Commander Grisham plans to have the exterior painted.
June will be a busy month for security work.  Coming immediately is the Mining Expo, followed almost closely by the Motorcycle Jamboree.  Later this month, we will provide security for the Lamoille Women's Club, Lamoille Fair on June 26.
Several members have commented that they cannot find the Posse web site when doing a search; i.e., Yahoo, Google, MSN.  It is not likely that it will start showing up on search engines anytime soon, not until our site gets some history (time) and we can link it with other established web sites.  The easiest route to our web page is type,
www.ecsposse.org in the address line of your browser, then list it as your Favorites in your Explorer browser or Bookmark it if you use the Netscape browser. That way you are only two clicks away.  Currently, there is no secret page, per se; scroll to
