	make a significant contribution back to the Elko County Fair Board. The Fair is the Posse's main fundraiser. Search and Rescue training (June 20^th) provided navigational training for the members present. Each learned how to estimate walked distances through measuring and calculating pace and strides. Measuring distance and direction is important for knowing and reporting one's displacement from a known spot. Navigational skills are important to searchers; these abilities are important for keeping track of searchers and developing search scenarios. July 18 is the next scheduled SAR meeting. Please plan on attending. Every Posse member is subject to assist in a search and rescue, so each should be versed in search protocol and techniques. Remember, because of the 4^th, the Posse meeting will be held on July 5^th at the Annex, beginning at 18:00 hours. Scheduling of security is the only event planned for the meeting.


	Please note on your calendar that the July Posse meeting will be held Tuesday July 5th, 2004, beginning at 18:00 hours. Our Annex is now open for business! We have water, power, and sewer; it is almost back to normal (whatever that was). July is stacking up to be another full month of security work. Posse members will provide security for portions of the Basque during their festival. The Silver State Stampede will happen the following weekend and amongst that will be some carnival work. Posse members were unable to fill all the security spots during the Motorcycle Jamboree. Commander Grisham reminds us of the upcoming County Fair whence the Posse will be on tap for over 1,000 hours of security during race and Fair days. The posse provides 24-7 security doing stock-watch as well as area security during the events. He encourages Posse members to cancel out-of-town vacations during Labor Day, or use your vacation time to provide your services at the Fair.
